CRAWFORD COUNTY AIRPORT BOARD AND AIR TERMINAL

The county board of commissioners of Crawford county, Michigan, created the Crawford county airport board, as an arm of the commission, for the purpose of overseeing and managing a new general aviation facility called the Crawford County Air Terminal, located at the Grayling army airfield, Grayling, Michigan.

The General Aviation side of the Grayling Army Airfield includes the Crawford County Air Terminal.  The site is unmanned.  100LL and Jet A fuel is available.  Tie down areas are available at no charge.  Crawford County does offer long-term leases for hangers.  There is a courtesy car available on a first-come, first serve basis.

KGOV is listed by MDOT as “Private.”  This is because the Grayling Army Airfield is owned and operated by the Federal Government and falls under the auspices of the Department of Defense.  Because MDOT has agreed that they have no jurisdiction over the operation of the airfield, they have since listed it as private.  Crawford County and the National Guard have an agreement that the Grayling Airport is a DUEL purpose airport and all are welcome.  The GA terminal can be found at the north end of the airport.

Access to the GA terminal is  (55583 – Tower Frequency  =  access code)

There are various motels in the area, some will offer rides to and from the motel.

At this time there are no rental cars available, cab service or uber/lyft.

Questions regarding the GA should be directed to the Crawford County Administrator.  Questions regarding the airport should be directed to the tower.
